Cultural Events

UK Jewish Film (UKJF) works to develop and introduce Jewish film to diverse audiences and to position Jewish-related film at the heart of British film culture. Since 2008, the AJR has provided funding to UKJF to help support the annual UK International Jewish Film Festival. The AJR has sponsored screenings of several films with thematic links to our mission, including Fanny’s Journey, Hanna’s Secret, Refugees – The Shaping of Modern Jewish Life, Protektor and Stumbling Stone. The annual two-week festival presents more than 100 screenings of 80 international films at 18 cinemas across London, Belfast, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham. The AJR is pleased to work with UKJF to evaluate audience responses to the films we sponsor in an effort to better understand how to engage more members of the public learning about Jewish refugee and survivor stories through the arts.
