Membership

Annual membership of the AJR costs £25 (£35 overseas) and is open to anyone who was a victim on Nazi persecution and arrived in Great Britain as a Jewish refugee or Holocaust survivor, and members of their family including spouses, children and grandchildren. In addition to the services we provide which are described in detail on our SERVICES section, members receive an annual subscription to AJR Journal which combines topical news analysis with feature articles as well as book, theatre and film reviews. The Journal also contains profiles of personalities with a connection to the refugee community and promotes forthcoming AJR events and activities.

When you become a member of AJR you provide us with information called ‘personal data’. This is information from which you can be identified as a person. Before we can obtain and use that personal data we must make you aware of the following information.
WHO IS THE DATA CONTROLLER?
Once you provide your personal data to us that means that we are the ‘data controller’ because we then decide what is to be done with it.
HOW WILL MY PERSONAL DATA BE PROTECTED?
AJR has a duty to protect your personal data which we take very seriously. We will store your personal data on an electronic database. The electronic database is kept on AJR’s server on AJR’s premises and only AJR staff have access to that server.
HOW WILL YOU USE MY PERSONAL DATA?
We will use your personal data to provide you with a subscription to the AJR Journal. If you do not consent to our using your personal data, we will be unable to provide you with that subscription service.
WHAT WILL YOU NOT DO WITH MY PERSONAL DATA?
